Norwood Elementary is Dundalk's secret hidden gem. The teachers and staff are excellent and dedicated to the students. Principal Mark Taylor and assistant principal Michael Ruppenkamp are doing a great job. My apprehension about the Dundalk area is eradicated due to this outstanding school. My child has completed kindergarten and first grade and is currently in second grade, and has experienced excellent teachers who are committed to their profession. There are many after-school events. Communication with teachers and administration can be done by email and phone, and responses are rapid and respectful. It is 2024 and we are impressed with the exceptional high quality of Norwood in all areas.

Norwood Elementary is a hidden gem in the Dundalk area. The teachers and staff are dedicated and work hard to make this a secure school with high academic standards and lots of diverse activities for the students. Every morning I see the Assistant Principal at the crosswalk directing traffic and guiding students safely into the building, where the Principal stands at the door greeting children and parents. Communication is superb. The teachers respond to my email questions rapidly and respectfully. The lessons in math and the sciences are rigorous, yet the teachers make these lessons interesting and entertaining. There are many academic after-school activities for the students and parents, such as Math Night. It would not be surprising to see a Norwood student become a Nobel Prize or Pulitzer Prize winner someday. Norwood Elementary has my strongest recommendation for K to 3rd grade.
